The History of Yee Haw Day

Did You Know? Yee Haw Day was born from a bedtime story!

In the early 2000s, Palisades Elementary mom and theater teacher Nancy Fracchiolla loved reading Bubba the Cowboy Prince to her children. The story quickly became a family favorite—and it sparked her imagination. Inspired, Nancy adapted the book into a play that was first performed at Methodist Preschool and later at Palisades Elementary, filling the stage with laughter, music, and the spirit of community.

By 2004, Nancy dreamed even bigger. Wanting to bring families together beyond the classroom, she created Yee Haw Day—a homespun festival celebrating both the Wild West and the unique togetherness of the Pali community. What began with a simple children’s play blossomed into a beloved tradition of rides, games, music, and community spirit.

Two decades later, Yee Haw Day continues to unite families, friends, and neighbors—reminding us that the strongest roots of our community are joy, creativity, and coming together.
